Power Engineers and Transmission Experts,

My client is a large corporation in the Energy sector which is heavily involved in power transmission, as well as renewable energy ventures, and energy efficiency programs. They are a leader in producing electricity from clean and renewable fuels, and one of the largest corporate power companies, with assets over $10 Billion. As energy demands continue to grow and the U.S. power grid ages, new transmission infrastructure is required. This is vital, since renewable energy generation sources expand and power must be delivered to markets. Hence, this is an excellent growth opportunity. Position will be located in the Southeastern US, although similar positions may be located all across the country.

Senior Power Systems Engineer

Reports to an experienced Operations Engineer, performs testing, installation, and troubleshooting of all types of Protective Relays pertaining to Distribution, Transmission, and Generation protection schemes. Previous commercial/industry experience is required!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Planning, scheduling, and performing local area regulation maintenance tasks to meet planned schedule dates.
2. Checking and verifying engineering calculations, project specifications, reports, and related schedules prior to project inception.
3. Become adept with record management processes.
4. Become adept with corporate procedures including safety, maintenance, HR, Corporate.
5. Complete Company Substation Switching training, and achieve switchman certification.
6. Complete and pass required certification classes.
7. Assist in meeting reliability goals for company.
8. Assist in the organizing, planning and execution of large capital projects.

Qualifications

BSEE or BSEET required. Minimum of 5 yrs experience with protection and control related tasks required to qualify for the Sr. Engineer classification.
