Jota, looks like they changed their mailing system at the end of February. You need to sign up again & coupons are emailed to you. Here is a link to the info. They email you the coupons now. You can also (usually) pick up the books at costco at the customer service counter.

Just a coincidence about you using them for the first time & stopping receiving them shortly thereafter. They want to entice you into the store with the coupons. Doesn't make sense to stop sending them if you use them.

I still get the coupons mailed and I don't recall any recent opt-ins. Jota and I use the same Costco, too.

They just be hatin' your savin', Jota. smiley

Got several really good deals this week.

5lb Domino sugar $2.79; coupon .65/1, doubles, final cost $1.49
A1 Steaksauce, sale $2.49; coupon $1/1, final cost $1.49 (10oz jar)
Heinz Ketchup (40oz), sale $2; coupon .50/1, doubles, final cost $1.00

I also got some Edy's ice cream last week at Farm Fresh. Was on sale for $3 each & when you purchased 4, you got $4 catalina off next purchase. Plus, I had coupons $1/2 that doubled (Wednesday only). Final cost per carton of ice cream was $1.50 each.

Commissary had a good deal on rice, 10lbs Jasmine for $5.99. Got in on that (dh is loving our new rice cooker-lol).

There is also another deal I have my eye on. I want to get what I need before I post it. Details later today:-)

Since this thread has resurrected itself...

Be sure to bring your coupon collection with you when you shop. I've been able to score many decent items in the clearance bins. For example, they had some Neuman's dressing for $1.49, had 50 cent coupons. Also, they had Quaker Oats cookies for $1.25, had a coupon .$.75 off 2.

Every time I look at coupons they are always for the types of foods that I don't eat.

Weezie, my local grocery store will not accept coupons on clearance items. I used to find great deals in those bins dammit!

I'm looking forward to getting back into couponing. I slacked except for diapers once I got the positive pregnancy test since I knew we'd be moving in the near future - the less **** we have to move the better!
Once we're moved in later this month I can start back up again. I even have my own couponing room at the new house! smiley

I'm still doing some couponing, but only on the items we would normally buy. My daughter and I have both developed a love for Nutella and peanut butter sandwiches and it was on sale at Target with a coupon in the paper and I had two, so I bought two jars for $2 each net. Tomorrow I'll stop at Walgreen's and use my $1 off on Mitchum deodorant and Herbal Essence shampoo and get them for free (deodorant) or $1 (shampoo and conditioner) after getting register rewards (or whatever they call them, I don't remember!) The shampoo and conditioner have been on sale a lot lately so we're stocking up for the next few months.

Buy your peanut butter now if you see a good deal; Jif is going up 30% (!) this fall according to the new due to a bad peanut crop and I'm guessing the other brands won't be far behind. I was buying it for $1.99 up until June or July; it's now $2.49 at all local stores. If it goes up 30% over that, it will be $3.25 - that means the man will be sticking it to us!

_Off Topic_

one of my favorite treats (before dietary change) was

Nutella on Anisette toast

Yummy - if you haven't tried it, killer.

Here we would buy Stella Oro anisette toast. Don't know if it is still around.

kick starting this bitch for the new year.

I've got one new remaining razor blade from my bulk purchase last year...and i just bought 2 years worth of proglide blades for almost 50% discount at the store.

timed that perfectly.

Coupon purchase of the day - free Colgate toothbrushes. Normally 2.99 each - they were BOGO and a .75 off one coupon that doubled. So free! Love free!

Any advice for NJ coupon hopefuls? Ive tried with little success to be an extreme couponer, but it seems the deals are not readily available.

Grimm, go to hotcouponworld.com Check out the forums. I believe they still have them by state as well as by store.

Actually now that I look over the site, I can't find the "by state" option. So, here's a link to an alpha listing of deals by store. If you have any specific coupons questions, post & I'll help.

By the way, I should add, that you might want to really start stockpiling what you can now. I'm thinking prices are about to go through the roof (double, easing, gas going north again). This will affect not only general groceries, but also meats. A large freezer would be helpful.

Thankyou very much. :) Ive been taking advantage of deals on meats and non perishables, but it never hurts to squeeze the pennies.
