Why in Canada... is there a large Muslim population in Canada ?

The irony is... for decades Americans have paid a kosher tax on their food products....
look for a K [Kosher] or U [Union of Orthodox jews] on the can/box.

A Canadian line of Campbell's soups has activists stewing over Islamic connection

Washington Post
Monday, October 18, 2010

" Campbell Soup Co., the Camden, N.J., food giant, has been fighting a grass-roots boycott of its products after its Canadian subsidiary rolled out a line of soups certified as halal, meaning they're prepared according to Islamic dietary laws.

*

The halal soups, designated with a special label, are available only in Canada. "

For years Canada has taken in more Third World immigrants than any other industrialized country in the world.

That practice could eventually take the country down, in spite of its "sound banking system."

I spent some time in the '90's in an auto plant operated by one of the Detroit3 in Canada. I was told there that 80% of the people on the plant floor had a first language other than English. It was evident in the quality of their product, and the chaos in some of their operations.

And so it goes...

Massive third world invasion will take a first world country down...
and apparently, that is the plan.

Jeffrey, thanks for the links.

Americans have been paying extra for kosher certified food for decades.

I bet everyone here has kosher labeled food products in their pantry.

Even Reynolds Wrap has the U in the circle kosher mark.

The irony is... now that Halal foods are in the news, attention is on the kosher marks as well.

So what's the difference between Kosher and Halal (besides the process being overseen and okayed by a Rabbi or Imam).

Any dietary difference? Anyone know?

I always thought they're basically the same.

A libertarian might argue that it's better for a company to pay for a 'private' food-purity stamp of approval rather than forcing taxpayers to foot the bill via USDA (though USDA and agriculture inspections are 'voluntary' IIRC)..

Calgary’s Naheed Nenshi becomes Canada’s first Muslim mayor

" If you don't know the name Naheed Nenshi, take note.

A grassroots campaign driven by volunteers has delivered Canada its first Muslim mayor – Mr. Nenshi, who scored a staggering win in Calgary’s mayor’s race Monday.

He defeated two better-funded candidates, including one backed by Stephen Harper’s campaign team, and saw his support surge in the final few weeks. To say Mr. Nenshi's campaign was austere is understatement – he delivered his speech in a basement that was donated by a supporter at the last second. "
