I need to move out of my apartment and buy a house because in the last four years the increases have made renting a bad deal for me.

With the crap that's going on what we talk about here everyday I'm cutting my living expenses to the absolute bone as they say and getting as far away as it is practical from the city proper. The city is already bankrupt but the residents have no idea how bad it is going to get.

2016 the state is forcing them to put in close to 25% of the yearly budget into the way under funded pension plan. You see they have been blowing off the payments for the last 30 years and spending the money buying votes. Yep the city residents are so screwed starting in the next five years. I don't want to be anywhere near the city or living in the county when this SHTF. Because you just know some how the county is going to have to take over the city and that means big tax increases for everyone still living there.

The prices up to last week were still what I would call average and no real deal even with major drops in the asking price. The original prices were way above what these properties are really worth. Pittsburgh by the way is rated as one of the 10 worst markets in the U.S. where the asking prices are way over what they end up getting.

I'm seeing homes with a ho hum price and they were making the point that they took $5K to $10K off the price in the last month or so. Big freaking deal it's still way over priced and it's been on the market for close to a year.

Well I'm looking today and I ran across a few new listings and was impressed with what the asking prices had come down to. I wonder if the agents are starting to realize that this market is going to be garbage for the next few years. Listing homes that are priced too high is a waste of time since no one will buy them at those prices.
