Plus 5 new home communities actively building in my area and plans green-lighted for 10,000 more homes here (and a new turnpike interchange). There's a distinct lack of viable options available just like there is for most things anyone on TF would consider sensible either in the UK or US. TBH, it's not a big deal for me. Fuel costs are trivial compared to depreciation on a new car so I just keep my old one running. I think the extremely low inventory has something to do with it, but we also have a lot of diversifying Chinese buyers who are less confident about China's future.
