Same low inventory and multiple offer situation in my area (Central FL). Plus 5 new home communities actively building in my area and plans green-lighted for 10,000 more homes here (and a new turnpike interchange).

I see noticebly more foreclosures coming on the market in the last few days.

Some homes are "under contract" on the same day they listed.

NTB - try not voting in a bunch of tax on your fuel. We all pay the same price on the open market and some chose to kill the price with taxes.

Diesel was $4.45 when I filled up this morning. Good thing a tank lasts me a month.

Gotta love them oil burners, Truth. smiley The fill-up still sucks, but the lack of frequency helps. smiley

We are hitting about $4 (or just under) when paying with CC now. Cash is 4 to 5 cents a gallon cheaper.

There's a distinct lack of viable options available just like there is for most things anyone on TF would consider sensible either in the UK or US.

TBH, it's not a big deal for me. Fuel costs are trivial compared to depreciation on a new car so I just keep my old one running. I might get something more economical when it hits £2.00 / litre depending on how the figures stack up.

Gas going up is not bullish at all....it's the one thing that I think can derail retail sales besides European banks collapsing. So far, I haven't seen any signs or a slow down, but...

Who ****ing cares? You pay for gas with bodies coming home in caskets for the last 30 years or out of your pocket. Two choices. Decide.

Rumor has it that this buyer is from Google China and just cashed out his Beijing apartments to buy in Norcal.

I think the extremely low inventory has something to do with it, but we also have a lot of diversifying Chinese buyers who are less confident about China's future. This buyer is obviously out of his mind to pay $1.6M for an unlivable place. Such a lot goes for about $1.1M here, so he is even overpaying for the land alone.

$3.77 Kansas City on the KS side, about $3.68 MO side of the state line. Noticed some stations were getting ready to change prices. Filled up at Costco for $3.68 in KS even tho only needed 1/2 tank.

"True, governments can reduce the rate of interest in the short run. They can issue additional paper money. They can open the way to credit expansion by the banks. They can thus create an artificial boom and the appearance of prosperity. But such a boom is bound to collapse soon or late and to bring about a depression.

Try $4.59/gal for unleaded regular around the Chicago area and the station had people filling up. In the Mall right next to it there were plenty of cars in it.

It doesn't seem to be impacting the shopping and restaurants around the area either.
