Drench, sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't.

I could say the same thing about any MSM news source. Any of 'em. You have to aggregate it in your head to arrive at true "intelligence".

I don't really look to Debka as a "news source" as much as I do "a component in the equation".

[EDIT: I realize Debka is sometimes a disinfo source, and I factor that in to the overall analysis.]

How long have you been reading them? I have been for 8 years. They never ever published a real report. Ever. They mix real info and their BS to make it believable ... but guess what, it ain't.

Agree.

However, **** is ****, e.g., >98% of National Enquirer. The situation with Debka, IMO, is that they are evil enough to mix the disinfo in with the **** so thoroughly, that the time and effort one needs to spend to try to untangle them are better spent searching somewhat less loony sources.

Anyway... from what I'm hearing from a trusted source, Israel will not strike Iran in the near future... Israel has been looking at SYRIA all along...

They expect a war with Syria real soon... perhaps even days away... Hezbollah would probably be implicated... worse case, Iran gets involved too.

The worse worse case... Russia gets involved.

Anyway I hope nothing like that will come to pass...

But when you have articles like that...

http://www.spacedaily.com/reports/Israel....
Quote:
Israel 'to evacuate Tel Aviv' in event of missile attack

Israel will evacuate the entire population of Tel Aviv if it is hit by missiles, particularly if they have unconventional warheads, the commander in charge of Israel's central region told AFP.

"In the next war, nobody will be able to drink a coffee in Dizengoff," he said, referring to a popular street in downtown Tel Aviv.

"Israeli civilians will have to face the threat. Today, every civilian is threatened in Israel."

When this is in the MSM, you know things are about to get bad... and the banksters need a diversion from the economic collapse in Europe...

That and Egypt's election is Sunday and both candidates are bad...

Israel would have to face a 3 fronts war... and with all the ``new technology`` (mainly missiles and WMDs) since the last war, it could get real ugly real fast.

This summer will be really hot... hopefully not ``nuclear hot``...

What? First non conventional missile that lands in the Garden and ****s up Dudu's day results in a shiny glassed over Damascus. There will be no '3 front war', maybe 3 nuclear missile launches IMO worst case but nobody wants this to go all out or it would have happened ALREADY against Iran.

I'm starting to realize the ME is just another shell in the pea game.

Just a thought, maybe Russia's plan is to foment political upheaval in Syria and then, instead of letting UN a peacekeeping mission in, "volunteering" to place its own peacekeeping force in the country and establish a Russian presence in that area.

It may well be a stepping stone, but one for Russia.

'Hezbollah may move Syrian arms to Lebanon'

Israel expresses concern after reports state Assad may be losing control over military assets, including air defense base.

Well they have been worried about that for years. But really this is why Israel has been calling up reserves... Israel will not let those weapons go to Lebanon, according to family in Israel, they think that Israel will launch strikes if transfers happen... and of course they expect those strikes will lead to full scale war with Syria and Hezbollah.

Russia warns war is coming

Source reveals government given 4-6 weeks to crush opposition

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is preparing a major offensive in the coming days against the opposition targeting his regime, an informed Syrian government source confirmed.

The source told WND yesterday Assad was warned by Russia that if the coming counterinsurgency targeting the opposition is not successful in the next 4-6 weeks, Syria should be prepared for a war.

This ain't good.

Quote:
The source did not say whether the possibility of war referred to a Russian expectation of international intervention in Syria.

That or Israel striking them if arms transfers are done.

U.S. military completes planning for Syria

The U.S. military has completed its own planning for how American troops would conduct a variety of operations against Syria, or to assist neighboring countries in the event action was ordered, officials tell CNN.

In recent weeks, the Pentagon has finalized its assessment of what types of units would be needed, how many troops, and even the cost of certain potential operations, officials tell CNN.

The military planning includes a scenario for a no-fly zone as well as protecting chemical and biological sites. Officials say all the scenarios would be difficult to enact and involve large numbers of U.S. troops and extended operations.

Both.

Russia has interests (e.g., Tartus is just one) and it wants to regain its former stature as a major player in the region, which is made very difficult if a gov't it has been seen to support falls. The US/Israel want 1. a govt't that will accept the permanent loss of the Golan and stop supporting the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon (the Lebanese gov't military by itself is incapable of defending Lebanon) and 2. to further isolate Iran. I also expect that the US wants to embarrass Russia by publicly turning it into just a minor player in the region.

Not hard to believe. Public embarrassment of each other, tit-for-tat PR, reducing the other's prestige, etc., etc., in one area while actively co-operating in other areas is very common in the "Realpolitik" among powers, even during the SU era.

As a striking example, take the Apollo-Soyuz test project. Starting in 1970 (and even earlier for precursors) the US and the SU embarked on ASTP in a veritable love-fest of co-operation lasting for years. Great PR win for both countries while they publicly played kissy-face with one another. All the while, the SU was supplying modern arms, advisors, and other logistical support to N. Viet Nam, who at the time were involved in a shooting war with US forces. Reportedly, they also sent Soviet pilots who actually flew against US pilots.

Or take France under DeGaulle. Staunch NATO ally and all that, right? Yet both the US and French governments were hell-bent on embarrassing the other, France to justify its need for the Force de Frappe, the US to dissuade French autonomy in the area of nuke defenses.

Or take Pakistan in the relatively recent past. On the one hand the US government was funneling money to Musharraf's gov't (and probably to him personally as well) as a "great US ally", yet was playing all sorts of world propaganda games about how opposed we were to his authoritarian military dictatorship.

Just because the US is attempting to thwart Russian influence in the Middle East is no reason for Russia to give up whatever positives it is receiving by co-operating with the US in the Afghanistan conflict. You gotta believe the Russians aren't co-operating with the US in Afghanistan just out of the goodness of their hearts.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has warned the Syrian regime about amassing Syrian forces near Aleppo over the last two days, saying such a deployment could be a “red line” for Syria's northern neighbor Turkey “in terms of their strategic and national interests.”

Turkish officials told reporters late last year that the Turkish military could establish a buffer zone if the Syrian army advanced on a city, like Aleppo, close to the Turkish border.

Israel: Hezbollah could get Syrian weapons

Syria is widely believed to possess a major stockpile of chemical and possibly biological arms, including warheads for the Scud Ds. Israel's worst nightmare has long been Syria's use of these weapons of mass destruction.

Israel says Syria possesses Sarin, VX and other nerve gases, along with mustard gas, which can be used in missiles.

Syria is one of the few states that have never signed the Chemical Weapons Convention, and Maj. Gen. Yair Naveh, Israel's deputy chief of staff, says it "has built up the biggest chemical weapons arsenal in the world."

These are believed to be stored in 50 facilities across the country and U.S. officials say that upward of 75,000 troops would be needed if foreign forces have to secure these sights.

So what's happening...
- Egypt military does a subtle coup...with elections this week end... with more trouble coming
- Russian troops are heading to Syria
- Syrian crisis getting worse by the minute
- US and allies getting ready to go into Syria
- G20 meeting next week
- Iran-IAEA meeting next week which will probably end in failure
- Scuds being moved, on high alert
- Israel calling reserves quietly and saying to prepare for war
- Hizbullah saying that Israel is all in range
- Greek election sunday that could create lots of chaos

Yeah this is sooooooo going to end well... NOT...
