This is some seriously good investigative reporting. Many of us have gotten fed up with the tout journalism such as is presented on CNBS. Ira J. Glass has been around for a long time and is a radio master. When he digs in, there is no place to hide. I've listened to this twice and have sent the link to my radio journalist daughter. The link is posted here for anyone who appreciates excellent radio journalism.

Great show. Based on what I heard, I give Judge Williams a 50/50 chance of getting a bullet in the head. When bench justice is inadequate, street justice generally ensues.

It's a good show. Too bad he's so dishonest about the politics of public broadcasting.

I listened to a rebroadcast of this. I've enjoyed listening to Ira Glass. He knows how to tell a story. One of the saddest parts of the show was about a young man who embraced the drug courts plan for him and cleaned himself up, became an advocate of the court's mission talking to groups, etc.. He went for a mandatory drug screening and the tech used a dirty cap from the trash which was contanimated w/meth from another person. The test comes up positive. The guy who knows he's clean insists on another test which comes up clean. They do a third to verify. All 3 test have to be reported to the judge. She re-sentences him to restart the 2 yr program - he was 2 months away from graduation. The tech testifies that she used a dirty lid for the drug screen sample. Tough luck according to the judge. The guy says "F*** It", totally demoralized.

I was extremely upset after listening to that show. Sa, the man you mentioned--oh, god, I felt so bad for him. He really worked hard to get it together, and that bitch deserves to be removed.

Agreed, Ads. It*****es me off when someone wantonly destroys another person like that. That's what she did, without regard to the truth. Very sad. She's not fit to be in that position.
