Gamma Posts: 5592 Incept: 2008-01-20 Northern CA	I got about 30 6L6's out of the garage, 20 NOS, nothing more exotic. About 8 were metal, which are seriously "underpowerable" as their voltage ratings are profoundly lower than 6L6GB or GC. The Sylvania 6L6GA's are still not happy with GB/GC volts on them. I actually built a tube-matcher to compare output tubes and was able to get some matched pairs out of them, but was only able to group about a quarter into pairs within 2ma plate current which is my standard for a "matched pair". Some of the "unmatched" tubes are astoundingly all over the place; under identical conditions, I have found tubes that passed 25 ma and 45 ma! Same type, same Sylvania 6L6GA, same freaking DATE CODE! ---------- This stuff we're going through, this is nothing compared to the Middle Ages. It's not American Made; I think it's made in Vietnam, but it's very high quality stuff. Contractors and those soldiers who buy their own gear do use it in the sand box. Once it's gone, they move onto the next lot so it keeps going all day. These handhelds from the 1990s are really tough units with functionality that is not too shabby. Depending on the battery condition and accessories, $100-125 would be a great deal on this. You can receive short distance communications (about 80 miles or less) with this radio and transmit up to 10-15 miles. Great for local communications. You have to be very careful with All Clad now, I have bought a few items that are hugely marked down, only to discover that they are made in China, and I subsequently sent them back right away. And I just tried that coupon and it DOES work for me..... Edit: I checked the reviews on Amazon and they actually have the same TV for $1100 with free shipping (and possibly no sales tax). They must be closing them out. So it may be cheaper for some to get it from Amazon. That is a nice TV if you don't need a 55 incher.
