It seems to me that Congress is trying to avoid the blame for what they fear is coming, so they'll set up a few patsies in the Super Congress who can be conveniently blamed for whatever decision is made. Remember, whatever decision is made isn't going to amount to a hill of beans in what's coming. This isn't necessarily organized, it's the instinct of politicians, bosses and creeps in general to get someone else to blame.

I agree but would probably move this to politics.

Maybe they'll use senators who have the weaker chance qt being reelected.

the super congress is not about passing blame, its about consilidating power and restructuring the power in the house and senate. this will be challenged and the supreme court will find it unconstitutional.

I disagree. Why would members of Congress give up power willingly?

They wouldn't unless there were strong incentive, and avoiding the blame is their incentive.

Why a Super Congress ? Easy , to promise something in the future ( a logical fiscally responsible plan/decision ) in lieu of making any decision today which might hurt someones feelings or keep someone from being re elected.

No one gets hurt today and the Super Congress can NOT make a decision in the future and NOT hurt anybody then too.

...........but in the mean time it looks like somebody did something...........and in fact they did : fooled a bunch of people into thinking that a Super Congress would actually be relevant if created and allowed to come to a non solution.

Exactly Zzt...everything is about extend and pretend. It's not about the common good, but about self interest, securing campaign financing, and re-election.

Boz: both the dems and republicans want to get on with their looting without having to deal with those annoying tea partiers and others that try to debate the issues.

Its a lot easier to loot when its not in the full view of the media. I dont think they give a **** about blame, the "beauty" of the two party system is that they just blame each other even though they are making the same decisions (2 sides of the same coin). Its enough to confuse 99% of sheeple.

First step to a politburo. They will seek out control until forced to stop.

The BS committee is there to make the necessary and painful cuts without the public ever knowing about it. Projects wil get cut, things will quietly shut down and it will never hit the news. Secrecy and desperation are the name of the game here.
