I just had a couple thoughts. Michael Moore is said to be giving an interview soon. That is great for the movement in terms of bringing press, however, it might be a good idea to make sure that Moore is not just using this protest to get press himself, getting "face" for it. Test him-make sure he joins the picket line and ask for his commitment in the long term. (Dude, the guy's made a decent chunk of change making all those documentaries-maybe he could help by setting up a port-a-potty somewhere or donate camera equipment or food...I'm just sayin'....) And BTW, great that you got Susan Sarandon...but you need to find her ex. I think he lives in Greenwich Village and since madame is going out of town, somebody needs to find that guy and draft him-Tim Robbins is literally a giant and too physically big to ignore.

Last, go and find people out of a job, find older people, find young people; post on youtube that ex-hippies with experience in the civil rights protests are needed if you are feeling ambitious (c'mon, San Francisco is loaded with them, & their BART protest ain't doing so good...tell them that the kids need their help and experience. You are going to need a few old guys who know a few legal shock tactics.) Call around. Invite whole campuses of students and find a few retired professors who can give you counsel.

Make them scared of you. Protest peacefully, yes, but if it comes down to direct action, do it."

Still, I think a lot of this stuff could be disinformation in order to discredit various groups that want to actually protest the Washington DC/WallSt alliance. I think if you ask these 99%'ers how they feel about the Obama administration you'll find that they're as fed up with it as anyone here is because from their perspective the Obama admin has rewarded the banksters.

Yeah, most of 'em probably want something well to the Left of Obama. But put yourself in their shoes: you're 25 and the last four years of economic dysfunction represents a good percentage of your lifetime experience - especially your "working age" lifetime experience (it's pretty easy to make the case that it's actually been 10 years of economic dysfunction). It's not hard to see that from their perspective "Capitalism doesn't work". Who can blame them for coming to that conclusion at this point? We're pretty close to losing a whole generation here if the WallSt/WashDC BS doesn't stop soon.

The scary thing is that their "workers rights" are a big part of what is destroying our economy. No business in thier right mind want to hire or expand with all the BS regulations that protect "workers rights" and force the business to pay their taxes, match their retirement or give them health benefits. That economy is dying quickly and the morons in DC don't have a clue.
These people have been brainwashed into believing that they are entitled to a job with benefits and that business must be evil not to give it to them.

I think that this is a very small minority of the people protesting. I truly believe that mostof the protestors have a brain and understand that Wallstreet has undermined our economy with their fraud and theft and they want it stopped!

The Congress seems very quiet right now and are hiding out because they know what the problems are and refuse to fix them. Most of us on this blog understand the issues and that is what is driving us crazy. You have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to see the problem.
