Getting things BACK is easy from the Moon; the gravity well to be overcome there is much weaker and once you've done that it's just a matter of aim, provided you have a means of surviving reentry.

Fortunately metal ingots tend to be durable.

Got the book in the mail today about an hour ago. It will be a gift for my father as I think I know most of the info from reading here every day since 2007.

It seems well laid out and simple enough that a new person with some brains should understand. It maintains focus on the math, which is important. At 200 easy reading pages I think its a winner. And I haven't seen a "skull****" yet (not that I care but some people might ;)

Got your book yesterday in the mail and finished it this morning. Have to say it was the best book I've read in a long time... Explains everything so clearly and easy to understand. In fact, I purchased 12 more this morning will be giving them out for Christmas presents and giving them to my congressman, statehouse representatives and Governor too. Great job Karl, your parents and daughter must be very proud.

I just ordered me an early Christmas present. I hope it is here by Thanksgiving.

Just picked up my copy and was sitting in a Bagel shop on the Upper West Side in Manhattan, David Faber and his wife and kids sat down next to me......I took the book out from under my coat on the bench and put it on the table in front of his wife while he was on line to order their food, I thought her eyes would pop put looking at the title!
Decided I had to leave, really didn't want to start a conversation with him while his kids and wife were there.....I might have used the words "skull ****ed" too many times, I'm sure it was the right decision.

Just to let you know Karl when I was up in DC a couple weeks ago I gave a copy of your book to my congressman Mick Mulvaney and yesterday I sent him the CNBC coverage of your book... this morning he sent me an email that said he was going to read it right after he finished the book he is reading now and said he was looking forward to it.
I also just mailed a copy of it to Jim DeMint actually to his state coordinator and she will get it to him.

As I said elsewhere I was in Chicago this weekend (10th) and we always visit the Old Orchid outdoor Mall. The wife shops and I spend my time in Barns & Noble book store. Even though I have my copy of Leverage I went looking for it a Barnes & Noble more of less interested where they would have it in their store. Well I could not find it so I went to the customer service desk and the discussion went this way:

Clerk: What can I do for you?
Me: I am looking for a book titled Leverage by Karl Denninger.
Clerk looks on the computer and finds Leverage.
Clerk: I see it here but we don't have any copies in the store.
Me thinking - the way she said that sounded funny so
Me: Did you ever have any copies in your store?
Clerk: No we have never gotten any.
Me: If you did have it in your store where would you put it.
Clerk: In the accounting section
Clerk: Would you like me to order you a copy?
Me: No thanks I already have a copy. Thanks. Bye.

Well I'm about a third of the way through - my compliments on producing something that is very readable and understandable. A copy is going to a good friend who has seen Inside Job and now thinks it's all about Derivatives...

Incidentally, what background colour is the sleeve? It looked white in all the images I've seen but my (UK) copy is grey.

Received my copy Christmas Eve as a requested gift from my 24 YO daughter. She tried Barnes & Noble where it was shown in their system, but none in stock. Came from Amazon. What were the circumstances that resulted in Janet T providing the intro to Wiley? Is she published by them? Merry Christmas all.

Clint: Yes; Janet is a Wiley author, and when she learned I was working on the book she asked the people there to look at it. They did and liked it.

Two observations/comments.

Part I (The Problem) ... Basically, you're saying that it's in everyone's best interest to be tackling the problems now, because if/when TSHTF, no one, absolutely no one, can hide. Even those of us who have been "prepping" will be affected, not because we don't have, but because we do.

Part II (The Solution) ... As much as everything makes so much sense, my gut is that the measures you describe won't be implemented because it will involve a huge loss of .gov jobs and a loss of economic advantage/power by those currently benefitting from the status quo. Look at what happened in Ohio with Senate Bill 5 ... passed both House and Senate, signed by the Governor, then overturned by a statewide referendum when the union folks oiled up their massive machine.

Meanwile (as I learned from talking with someone at a Christmas get-together this evening), GM is expanding one of their Mexico plants by 50% (another 3000 jobs), domestic engineering firms are expanding their China operations because the folks there work for $2 an hour, and companies in India can't bring to jobsites backhoes or automated concrete pouring equipment because the manual labor to do the same task is, for all intents and purposes, protected. Women with hardhats fitted with donuts carrying concrete on their heads over 200 yards, literally hundreds of men with shovels digging foundations. These countries have sheeple, too, who must be pacified.
