Congratulations on actually writing a book. That's a cool accomplishment in its own right. I plan to buy it when I receive my Kindle Fire (it will be the first ebook I read).

Is it a signed copy?

I pre-ordered mine on Karl's birthday. I can hardly wait to get it, read it, and make my kids read it! Any book signings planned? I would love to have mine autographed.

The first (numbered) signed copy is being sent to my parents. The second is sitting on my kid's desk. Perhaps, some day, those will have more value than as a firestarter. We'll see.

I have a few more copies sitting here that are "mine" to do with as I wish. A couple I will keep, of course, as mine, including one signed and numbered one for my bookshelf.

As for public signings it appears that Wiley is not planning on coordinating anything. I have a query into them as to whether they object to me setting them up with local book retailers here (I suspect not but since this is their game I'm ASKING) and if so what guidelines, if any, they have.

I'm willing to sign them if you run into me in our "daily lives" and if I'm at some event somewhere that's of course an opportunity as well. Push comes to shove if you mail me a copy with a return mailed and proper postage I will sign it and drop it back in the mailbox - it's on your risk of loss though if you do that.

I do not know if this means that they're actually at distributors (e.g. Amazon) as of yet. I suspect we find that out when people actually get them in their mailboxes. If you ordered a hardcopy and it shows up, please post something here so I know it's "in the wild"; the expectation is still 15 November, but obviously it might be a bit early given that we're ~3 weeks from that and the UPS man knocked on my door a bit ago.

Arp, if you ordered the Hardcover you won't hear anything until it shows up at your door on Nov 15th. Amazon is real good at making sure you receive pre-ordered media in your hand the day it is released nationwide.

Gotcha. I've never pre-ordered a book before so I'm just going with the flow.

Lots of people write books. Having it picked up by a major publisher like Wiley is, IMO, the real accomplishment.

I figured the truck was on the roll given that my author copies arrived the other day. They obviously wouldn't run the press for "just me", so the process of shipping the boxes of goods had to be "all done, on the way" at that point.

Congrats Karl!! I got notified yesterday by Amazon that my order was shipped, can't wait to start it.

I got my copy today from Amazon. I'm glad it was less than the $35 cover price.

Got my two copies yesterday. A nice surprise to come home to.
