I know I could Google this, but I trust TF'ers more than the blogosphere at large. I've asked before if anyone had done analysis of Washington state CUs. Apparently not, and I'm going to have to do my own research. So, I have the following questions.

1. What are the key metrics?
2. If published, where?
3. If calculable, how?

Thanks in advance to any who are willing to share their knowledge!

Bankrate has a nice rating system for banks and credit unions. Hope this helps!

Here's a link to a recent thread on this topic (last week): http://tickerforum.org/cgi-ticker/akcs-w....

Other CU rating sources mentioned:
Weiss Ratings (Requires free registration) http://www.weissratings.com/Login.aspx?
Bauer Financial http://www.bauerfinancial.com/btc_rating....

Link for finding Credit Unions: http://www.findacreditunion.com/

If you're looking for a good shorthand method of looking at CUs, I might suggest checking the 3 (or more, if you can find 'em) raters listed here, and then go by the worst rating.
