That is the part that has always bothered me. The Russians have spent a lot of time end energy to help the Iranians build and start that reactor. Why? My cynical side is plausible deniability. Why? Perhaps they have already sold Iran the BOMB.

Yeah, "nuclear know-how" leaves a lot of room for interpretation given the threat elaborated in their message. What's weird to me is that it's not just a threat against the US and Isreal, but the G5+1 nations. Would Iran really make China and Russia "incur losses?" Losses of what exactly?

I wonder if Russia draws the line. I mean, ever since Serbia in 1998 they have always been pushed further and further. As an allie, they have not successful stopped a single NATO intervention since the fall of the Soviet Union.
Russia is flush with energy cash and its armed forces are certainly have been born again. Gone is conscription and 1950's doctrine.

However, the part that doesn't seem to fit at this point is the part about Israel dwelling in safety and unprepared for war. Though some claim that the "unwalled villages" part is in fact the current state - most of their towns and villages in the Biblical times had literal walls built around them. Some people who read this apocolyptically claim that verse 13 refers to Britain and the US (they claim that Tarshish is Britain.

I think, at least hope, that if hostilities were close the carriers would all sail for the Arabian sea where they could still launch strikes bout wouldn't be bottled up. Of course the military has surprised me with their level of stupidity and incompetence before so who knows.
