It's all about plausible deniability in a situation like this. Obviously there's no way to know for sure, but Chavez meets the profile of the sort of official "enemy" the US has a tendency of trying to take out. Chavez is obviously a douche, but he represents a sort of existential threat to the Washington-Bankster axis of power on the South American continent. ---------- "Shut up.
