Looks to me like cops had reason to shoot this guy when he's coming at them swinging a metal bar, but 10 times?

They had reason to stop him but not kill him. They had a dog at the ready that could've taken him down.

This is murder.

That was an execution. They could have taken him. Get use to this... the United Stasi are at work.

Looks like suicide by cop to me. The cop who gunned him down might have been just looking for an opportunity to kill someone and thus the 10 rounds fired, but ultimately I think the guy just wanted to die.

I apply the golden rule to cops: If a guy was in my house breaking my windows and then pretended to lunge at me with a weapon then I would have put him down.

Based in video good shot.

You have a long metal weapon and you lunge at me when u are standing 2,3, 4 feet away, I shoot.
If lowbeyond is on the committee judging the aftermath, good shot, return to your job.

Yes I am serious, no its not sarcasm.

Edit. I do have a nit though. Why the eff is the cop holding the gun almost sideways gansta' style. That is the ghey. Yea he had a dog. So what use the ****** sights ferchriatsake!

No need for 10 shots to stop someone if you're actually trained to use a firearm. Yet another example of poorly trained cops who will now be put on paid admin leave after a clear execution style murder.

There were lots of things wrong there, but I generally agree that was a clean shot. The guy was coming at a cop with basically a pick axe. You will get shot like that.

But I don't know why the cops were so close to him to begin with. Is it normal police procedure to walk within striking range of someone who is carrying a deadly weapon?

And what's up with the people laughing while filming?

The cops and the guys filming probably figured the guy was nuts but not terribly violent. He wasn't going after anyone and it was pretty clear by his actions he was trying to bring the cops out. The cops where handling it step by step without much worry until officer gangstalicious was given the the perfect justification to kill someone scott free by the glassbreaker.

In an early age cops would have beat this nut case down and hauled him off to the funny farm without too much trouble. It's an unfortunate fact that most cops today are total wussies without guns and tons of backup.

Fuzzy video taken through rain drops, oh well. The filmers said right in the face and it seemed like the guy swiped at his face. Did he get tazed first? IN THE FACE? So he reacted violently to that and the cops didn't like it so it was murder time?

Too funny we have another thread concurrently whining about an industrial accident in China, subliminal message is that China doesn't value life. LOL!!! And our scruples and ethics are so much higher than China's, yup, I can see that right from this video. We are bastions of moral fortitude and China uses their population for slaves.

Would not surprise me if it was bath salts. I would have shot his ass to. He had plenty of time to drop the pipe or whatever it was. I am also never releasing my dog into a known fatal situation.

Hardly an execution. I can post some pictures of a real execution so you can see what they look like.

You had one cop who couldn't properly draw from a holster. (safety issue?)

If you put a pair into the guys chest he has a good chance of survival if you can get help to him quickly. 10 shots? Execution. Head shot if he's not a failure to stop? (meaning the shots to the chest didn't keep him from aggressing further) Obviously execution.

Capeman, You don't shoot to save. You shot to kill. I have no idea why you guys think cops have some rule where they are not suppose to kill when taking a shot. Maybe you watch too much TV.

Show me one written policy that says to never kill once you take the shot.

Isn't this the same group that is always bitching about people that don't have insurance running up a million dollars in medical bills?

I still think the cop with the dog could have put one in his leg at that range, instead of 4-5 to the chest. I know his partner didn't have his weapon drawn, so I could see using force. The 2nd cop was just excessive unloading 5-6 more rounds into him while he was cleared downed.

But I think you're right, this man wanted trouble.

Funny how as a civilian if I take a head shot on someone invading my home I am insanely more likely to be going away for murder than get off for self defense. Why shouldn't trained LEOs be held to the same standard?

Murder is murder the intent of self defense it to stop an aggressor and if trained properly these LEOs should not only know better but be trained to stop an aggressor not riddle him with holes like in Mexico.

The first five shots incapacitated the assailant. The second five shots proved the LEO wasn't sure if he hit his suspect.

Sorry, if you swing at an officer with an obvious deadly weapon, he is authorized to shoot, exactly as I'm authorized to shoot if you do the same thing to me.

And both he (and I) can shoot until the threat is clearly no longer present, and that's exactly what he did.

Sorry, I didn't see him swing at the cop. Do you know that for a fact or are you just assuming a hypothetical situation?

Granted the film quality is bad, very bad. No one answered or could make out the situation better than I could? Did he get tazed in the face? Hear the filmers? So if he swiped at a taze stuck in his face, you are going to assume he swung at an officer? The cop that has a weapon out does NOT need to stand within arms length in order to shoot the person.

What I could see from the film (as fuzzy as it was), is that the guy was walking towards the camera and the cops were off to the side. I'm "assuming" the cops tried to impede his progress (he was walking, not running).

This is no different than the woodcarver in Seattle. This guy was guilty of breaking windows I believe. This was a summary execution.

I will say for the 58th time, the film was crap and the only thing I can do is make vague assessments. From what I could see the cops were in no immediate jeopardy of anything UNLESS it is their intent to kill which is why they are standing so close to begin with, to have an excuse to murder someone. BTW, when a film like this is so poor, I don't want to review it 47 times trying to find the needle in the haystack.
