Maybe the 13k print for the long weekend?

and just over 1200 more points to new ATH

The sooner we take out 13k the sooner we can start the Dow approaches 14000 thread.

Eaglewwitt,

I don't necessarily believe anything. I trade what I see not what I think. It keeps me out of trouble and I make money doing it.

Nothing wrong with being Macro Bearish and short term bullish.

Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier! I think when we do get a pullback it won't be more than 2-3% as they don't want to spook the sheep from getting back in. Then a grind higher towards 14K to get the rest in.

Quite possible Nasdaq 3k goes down today, then we can move on to S&P 1,400.

Thx Lx--somewhat of an easy call in such a corrupt mkt--LOL--S&P 1400 may be a stretch. like to think we're due for a pullback (other than a few points intra-day)but who the hell knows anymore.

Well it looks like we had our pullback, S&P was down a whole 8 points. I guess they want 1400 sooner rather than later.

Less than 7% from ATH's now. Nas @ 12 year high and Rusky at ATH's. S&P needs to catch up.

We don't call it the /WTF for nothing...

Assuming any human beings are involved (a stretch, IMO,) is this panic buying for asset preservation? The Bernanke/Zimbabwe scenario?

Or just a plain vanilla parabolic blow-off?

Yep Tommy WTF! But it is what it is. Right or wrong, Bernanke kept the US Markets from turning out like the Nikkei of the 90's. Had he not done so, I think this country would be in an all-out depression.

The part about the markets or the depression? Well the Nikkei was down over 56% 3 years after their bubble burst and the Dow is only down 6.5%.

My personal strategy is to hang out in Canada for a while, until the gold/oil/mining/duration-matched bank-heavy index, the TSX is numerically double that of the Dow (so figure TSX = 30,000, Dow = 15,000). Then buy.

Its a formula that worked well in the 1970s, and one that would have worked well in the 1930s.

Its just a matter of time before the USA de-correlation from the rest of the world dissipates and some other asset class takes its place.
