C had been up just over 2% earlier today; currently it's flattish. It had a giant volume spike at 12:47PM (one-minute chart), with some 3.2M shares traded.

This performance may be legacy of the Italian bank downgrades from Friday. But, still, I wouldn't rule out some sort of bearish news on the horizon. GS is flattish and MS is in the red, so whatever is affect C may not necessarily be exclusive to Citi.

(I'm short MS.)

Some 15.6M shares of C traded in the after hours thus far, with two lots over 7M shares. Also, I'm not seeing this kind of volume for Citi's peers.

I suppose that that bearish news was the Moody's downgrades.

Currently:

BAC down 3.33% (thanks, in part, to a downgrade at Citigroup)
C down 4.44%
JPM down 1.80%
GS down 2.49%
MS down 3.58%
