They should mention the "homebuilder confidence report" like they mentioned the Russell 2000 last year, to show how their policies are working...

Federal Reserve Minutes (.pdf):

http://federalreserve.gov/monetarypolicy....

The opening sentences of the Minutes:

Quote:
A staff presentation provided an overview of an exercise that explored individual participants’ views on appropriate monetary policy responses under alternative economic scenarios. Committee participants discussed the potential value and drawbacks of this type of exercise for both internal deliberations and external communications about monetary policy. Possible benefits include helping to clarify the factors that individual participants judge most important in forming their views about the economic outlook and their assessments of appropriate monetary policy.

....or they can't find an answer......

One is inaction due to disagreement. The other is inaction due to one being boxed in and unable to do anything.

In any case....no action, just jawboning......

Normal momentary reaction while they pick up their jaw and let the news sink in that their savior for the last 3 years ain't just ready to save them right now.
