The "penalty" or "tax" whatever it's called, makes it more cost effective than paying for the insurance. Corporations have a fiduciary duty to do this now, as it will save them gobs of money. My company is currently negotiating with a huge labor union. I'm really curious how this will play out now in the negotiations as health insurance is a big item. I figure my health insurance will be cancelled next year too. It would be stupid of them not to do it.
