Didn't Obamacare cave to the big hospital lobby and add severe restrictions on physician owned hospitals? I think I read they aren't able to accept Medicare patients or even expand.

What methods of payment are acceptable?
To keep our prices as low as possible, cashier's checks or cash are the methods preferred. Credit cards and personal checks cannot be accepted. Human resource departments or divisions of self-insured companies can make other arrangements if necessary.

Can payment arrangements be made?
Payment in full is required at the time service is rendered. No payment arrangements can be made. These deeply-discounted prices are otherwise not available.

Maybe I won't have to go to India or Costa Rica after all. Hope this is the start of a trend. Love the cash on the barrel head to keep costs low.

This is definitely a great model, stripping out so much waste. You don't have to hire an army of people to figure out how much insurance will pay, if it will pay. For those credit arrangements like care credit, the office pays around 8% so that it can be offered to the patients as 12 months interest free. Unless the procedure is truly so expensive that no one can pay for it, then this looks like a great business model. I want physicians and staff to be paid honestly for their work, and this cuts out so much waste and grift.

Here's my price for an open reduction internal fixation (broken tibia with titanium plate seven screws) in 2002 $25,000.00 and that was on a HSA plan so I saw all the bills or at least my portion...vs $4,455.00

My GF had a Anterior Cervical Disc Fusion Two Levels last year for $150,000.00 vs $21,500.00

So yeah FIVE to SIX times more expensive running thru the insurance cartel.

Penile Prosthesis - $ 15,425.00

Seems reasonable...

Lumbar Laminectomy $9,900.00.

I had this done about 5 years ago. Hospital and Surgeons bill was over $50,000 before insurance.

Pop says the prices thinly cover malpractice insurance. They are a boutique which is not uncommon and the only way you will see a real doctor after 2016. He went down to the property on the sound and said he might come back... no promise... :)

They should take credit cards and mark up for the processing fees. Great model otherwise.

The reason they don't is chargebacks. You can always write a signature loan on your credit card and bring the cash. Yes, it has a somewhat higher cost for you, but it removes the chargeback risk.
