Karl, perhaps a ticker on the ticking bombs insurance cos are holding to maturity (good luck with that plan) and how annuities and other investments are going to credit heaven?

Granny might not care about the DOW and FED nearly as much as getting her monthly nut shredded.

Steph, the idea just hit me, so I havn't worked it out beyond the idea yet. I know we need a link to Karl's ticker. Links to other voices who are talking about this would be usefull as well. I'm going to play around with parts of the flyer and see what I can fit and that it can make sense. I'm leaning toward something minorly inflamatory on one side. I'm a bit of an angry American at the moment and people need to get their head out of thier ass and wake the hell up before it's too late. Another advantage to the Business card size thing is you can have several different ones on you without walking around with a folder. I should have something by monday afternoon.

Sounds good, Rev. PM me when you have something.

Also, besides the URL for the Ticker, I'd also suggest www.FedUpUSA.org !!

Superb ticker: I just hope the Fed does me (us) a favor and cuts .50 or even .75: I can then say 'goodbye dollar, hello $150 oil, inflation, currency crisis': the death of equities.

In his weekend piece, Karl speaks of a possible 3%-4% downturn in GDP. The Levy Economics Institute is calling for additional fiscal input of 4% ($600 bn), in the form of increased direct government expenditure, which I puzzle about here: http://theylaughedatnoah.blogspot.com/20....

1. Could it work?

2. Given a $15 trillion US GDP and a US stock market about the same size, are we over-worrying?

3. If, as seems to be the official plan, inflation (perhaps by extra government projects rather than tax rebates) is used as the way out, can one put some sort of figure on it, rather than wild talk of complete destruction of the currency?

4. To what extent would the desired benefits of devaluing the dollar be negated by competitive devaluations in other currencies? (I note that our own benighted pound seems determined to fall at least as fast as the buck.)

Karl, congratulations on your campaign to punish the financial wreckers and the negligent watchdogs. Although a Brit, I do have an interest: my brother has just become an American citizen. I hope the people are still empowered to call the government to account. Long live your Constitution - one of the finest inventions of the last quarter-millennium.

Signed and confirmed. Thank you Karl for all of the effort you put forth trying to get the message out. Last fall, when you started the first petition, I talked to many people about what was going on with our economy and was brushed off by most of the people I talked to as being tinfoilish or just too negative. Now nearly everyone I talk to tends to agree more than ever. All most people have to do is go to the grocery store or fill up the tank with gas to see evidence of it now. I will try to convince them once again to sign this new petition.

Sack, no.

You can't spend $600 billion in deficits without it coming back SOMEWHERE.

Government spending is not a net positive. You can't only get to a net positive via growth in GDP.

Debt-initiated spending only returns $1 for every $5 taken on in debt.

Signed and confirmed. I also sent my own email to Bachus and Shelby. Of course, the last time I sent and email to Shelby I got a form letter totally unrelated to what I had written to him about. I will be working to get him out of office and I told him so in my email response back to him.

Genesis, thank you for putting all this together. I know this takes hours of work and I applaud all your efforts!

I finally took the red pill. I have a lot of catching up to do. Please excuse my ignorance.
