America is about FRONT LOADING its PLEASURES.

Clue #1: Why is credit guarantee companies not up 100% in the rally even if there are real purchases in laptops, jewelries, and clothings? Is this because we the people understand that 1) we like to lift everything off the rack, but 2) we wont pay for it. Super front loading on whatever spare capacity left in the economy, and there won't be a way to pay out of it. I personally have cleaned house and currently not worry about anything so I won't do anything. I know the system and who it will "eat" eventually when the "BACK-END" showed up.

Exactly.

We the people continue to insist on "buy now pay never", and it has worked so long as we could ratchet from bubble to bubble.

But doing so requires an ever-increasing asset base for the NEXT bubble. That's a major problem because we just used the largest asset base available to the US Consumer!

Governments that unify citizens by supporting a sense of belonging, a belief in the rule of law, and a willingness to sacrifice and compromise for the greater good are ultimately stronger than those that don't. Divisive politics, lackadaisical justice and an entitlement mentality (among the wealthy as well as the poor) have made this country far weaker than any foreign opponent ever could.

In a time frame of days, OK, this is just theory. But over a time frame of decades and centuries it is absolutely practical.

Nuke, look carefully and you may come to the conclusion that Webb is the one politician most likely to hang the Wall St. fraudsters and their Washington enablers from the highest tree. In fact, he has been talking about some form of the following for years (quote from today's Parade):

"Our country is in the middle of a profound crisis. This crisis has many causes, but much of it has been brought about by poor leadership decisions at every level of government. In addition, our electoral process is dominated by financial interests that are threatened by the very notion of reform.

Elections shouldnt be media circuses, nor should they be auctions where a candidate sells himself to the highest bidder. They should be moral contracts between those who wish to lead and those who are consenting to be led. "

Well said and right on the mark IMO.

i agree with everything everyone is saying but the game is too big. take this famous quote:

Give me control over a nations currency and I dont care who makes its laws. - Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1743 1812)

how can anyone fight this?

R2Judge,

Are you suggesting a short treasuries/long pitchforks trade?

Sounds like a winner to me....

---------

Funny you should bring that up. Page 51, today's Barron's.

"Now, ETFs for when Treasuries fall." Ultrashort (PST) (TBT)

Unfortunately, Barron's did not have an in depth interview with pitchfork manufacturer, whose shares are poised to soar.

Brucelee, you seem to forget that Americans have a rather unique system of checks and balances in our Constitution.

That you're unwilling to stand and do something about it doesn't make it impossible.

It just makes you a coward or a sheep - take your pick.

Oh, and the foxes are outside the gate.

i'm not disagreeing with you gen, but i do feel the reason history rhymes is because it's being called out of the same playbook. think of everything you've been writing and the commonality it has among different nations who have experienced what we are and are about to go through. think about the similarities it has from other time periods in this country's history. why does it keep happening?

Them's fightin' words!

I guess we the people have to make "him" give back control over the nation's currency.

I thought the Fed's job is to defend our currency, but if that job assignment makes whoever is running the Fed "no longer care who makes the laws", guess to whom we gave control over the nation's currency?

If "whoever" really no longer has to "care (about) who makes the laws", the remaining option is to find some other way to take back the control by force, or find a way to make him care.

I think writing to our elected officials is one way, but getting their serious attention is better, as in media attention and massive feedback from people.

I really appreciate those petitions, and gladly signed them. Thanks, KD.

Too bad I'm not rich enough to corner the Forex market in the USD. That would be taking back control.

Interested,

Time's a wasting for Senator Webb. Let's hope his actions soon meet and exceed the expectations his words have set in the minds of many.

A good Virginia boy like Mr. Webb ought to realize that from many Southerners' point of view, this mess appears to some as the beginning of a second war of northern aggression against the rest of this country, emanating from Wall Street and Washington, DC, sponsored by Ivy League brains.

If he doesn't strike out the battle flag soon and start whooping these Wall Streeters, investment bankers and politicians he's going to be possibly facing some real mad J6Ps with pitchforks. Someone's gotta save the Republic and if he wants to play footsie in the Senate he better get out of the way.

No pitchforks for me. I'll just go back to my old family plantation on Daniel Island and dig out the muskets great-great grandpa is rumored to have buried as Sherman approached. We'll need them to correct the historical mistake of the last 150 years!

Yes, I agree. We should have let The South go its own way. But there's still hope. We can put a huge dent in the national debt by selling Louisiana back to France.

Bozonian,

Maybe you've hit on the next asset base after the consumer. Selling the country off to the highest bidder, piece by piece.

I don't disagree with Webb. However, this recent Webb press surge seems to be him just pushing his new book and helping Obama by jawboning for the Appalachian J6P.

I want to see Webb talking into the Congressional record and proposing (by introducing) bills for the next session of Congress.

So far, it all appears to be just talk, and anyone can talk. Talk is cheap. It sells books but that's about it.

I'm waiting. Where are the proposed bills in Congress? The reinforcement of his commitment to change by some real action? Maybe some formal press releases from his office as a Senator? How about some initiatives? Some announcements that the right thing for the Scottish J6P is a reform of all government financial and economic reporting?

Where's the beef from Webb for J6P?
