Indeed, that pesky "residual value" seems to be causing problems in the vehicle leasing business. Not surprisingly, here in Las Vegas some dealers have invented the refinance your car gambit in a desperate attempt to not having to take the vehicle upon lease expiration. They will polish it up; inspect it; gee, they might even put a Garmin unit in it.

This just gets better every single day.

Per my General Manager friend at an Acura dealership on the west coast of Florida... His words "I can't believe the crap the banks are still doing it's like being in the mortage business during the good old days!! I can still take a borrower 10K plus upside down and roll them in to a new car with NO money down. Highest CLTV that he has seen yet 191% due to negative equity." The lending is still all fico driven and you need a 720 plus score and a good (long 10+ yrs) job history for the extreme example above. I'm going to get some more info out of him next week as to which banks are doing these. Do think he mentioned Huntington Bank as one of the lenders doing this crap but will confirm!!
