I find these models to be particularly outrageous given the lifespan of these securities. With a 30-year mortgage term, the model would have to have held for 30 years. Does anyone know if there have historically been periods with continuous HPA for at least 30 years? To me, these models seem like wanton negligence or outright fraud.
