I too would rent for a year and get a lay of the land. That area has a super high crime rate as well and you may find yourself wanting to get the F out of dodge. Old buddy of mine was a border patrol agent through there in 2001 and he said he could see the writing on the wall even then. Last time I was near there was 2007 and the girl I met in Yuma said that tucson was turning into a major ****hole with tons of crime. I would imagine with their RE problems now that her statement would ring true much more today. I wouldn't live anywhere near the mezcan border these days. It's bad enough here in NoVa with gangs and illegals these days.
