We drove by six farms with corn planted yesterday. Except for one, it was the puniest corn I can remember seeing near the end of June. The one field was easily under a foot tall.

The farm just a few hundred yards to our south is being sold after this year's harvest after being in business for over 75 years. I hope like hell it isn't going to be developed, there were plans for a housing development there back in late 2006 but it fell through when the market went pfft.
