I like this one (from the faq.ecat.com):
Quote:
Q: What would happen if I had a power failure in my home such that the ecat controls AND the (cooling-) water pump stops?

A: If the E-Cat overheats the nickel becomes liquid, so it is no more powder, therefore the E-Cat stops. It is intrinsically safe.

Uh, the melting point of nickel is around 1450°C or 2650°F. Can you say "Fire Hazard"? It also raises the question why this thing is limited to running under 200°C and 28psi?

For the first hour. After that the units are supposed to be self-sustaining. Which makes me ask why he's only promising a COP of 6. If a 10 kW device is run continuously and is self-sustaining after the first hour, the COP should be MUCH higher.
