Agi,

First, thanks for finding and posting one of the better arguments for the dollar not holding value relative to pm's or other currencies.

I don't care much about PM as an investment though I have held a small amt for many years. I have more recently been a seller for profit taking based more on the margin call scenario. I think how this plays out is not a closed question and I think the prudent thing is to be diversified.

What I had done some time ago was buy physical currency from countries that don't have the same problems we do. It might seem a little crazy, but I travel some outside the US and this is something that people in other countries with soft money have done routinely. Suffice to say, I hold more than I need for travel and I sleep a little better holding it.
