Let's go back as to why they consfiscated the gold; they wanted a debt based monetary system and competition is sin. Why get away from sound money and move to fiat ? So you could inflate and keep the control of money in a few hands. Hence the creation of the FED and the confiscation of gold. How do you get demand ? Find governments that are going to war and lend to them. When they are near paying it down to 0, get them more wars and more loans. Now we have never ending wars and never ending printing world wide. The dollar currently represents poor monetary policy. It's cursed, diseased, and too much is harmful. We would prefer less for better value. But instead we get more inflation. http://www.mises.org/story/2796 Remember, Roosevelt gave what the money trust wanted; control. I don't recall Roosevelt being a Gold Bug. There is a distinct possibility one may take office soon. 2007-12-01 22:30:24
