For the FED to exist, meaning the guys running it need to keep their jobs, how else can they stay employed ? Lie about the economy. Oh, and stop reporting on M3. As well, inflate. It's their only tool. And I don't see Volker as our next FED chief. 2 assets matter to the FED, real estate and stocks. Both are what we borrow against. Or better yet, sell the farm to buy milk. BTW, GS is short Gold in 08. They base this on a strengthening dollar, gold having topped out, and a stabilizing housing sector. They're not that dumb which tells me GS is long. 2007-12-01 23:11:32
