The US does Israels dirty work, pays for it and gives them a bit more cash besides. Israel is just very careful to let you think they are essential to the US. If you have never googled AIPAC I suggest you do. Think about it. If the state of Israel stopped supporting the US tomorrow how would it matter to the US? The US would likely not even notice. If the US stopped supporting Israel tomorrow how much would matter to Israel - well, its a life or death thing for them. The reality of it is that things that are in Israels best interest are not necessarily in the US's best interest but you could not know this from looking at US foreign policy. 2007-12-02 08:59:30
