The uncertainty comes from the fact that no one knows who has what. So there is a floor? The next stage is for everyone to take the same type of hit that Etrade took. That's where the real risk is, I would suggest.

The freezing of the ARMS does not remove the uncertainty of foreclosures. As has been stated several times in various posts, foreclosures are happening in ARMS that have not yet reset.

There are too many unknowns. Freezing the interest rate for some is only addressing one of them.
