I think they just might. It's entirely possible that the banks tightening credit will offset the inflationary effects of the fed lowering interest rates and the yen carry trade unwinding. If you throw in the possibility of Euro zone central bank intervention coming in on the side of weakening the Euro against the dollar it really becomes to close to call in my book.
