Nomullet: I definitely agree that taking the adjustable rates out of the mortgages makes things less complicated from the perspective you are looking at. However: These mortgages were sold and the owners of them are all over the globe! Heres a town in Norway who has already "missed a payroll for municipal workers" due to the losses they have incurred SO FAR. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/02/world/.... If neither the bank or the govt is the owner of the mortgage - how can such decisions be entirely theirs to make? 2007-12-02 15:39:51
