I definitely agree that taking the adjustable rates out of the mortgages makes things less complicated from the perspective you are looking at.

However:
These mortgages were sold and the owners of them are all over the globe!

Heres a town in Norway who has already "missed a payroll for municipal workers" due to the losses they have incurred SO FAR.

If neither the bank or the govt is the owner of the mortgage - how can such decisions be entirely theirs to make?
