Nomullet: A very big problem with marking to market is that only the biggest risk takers will make a bid on these things and their bid is likely to be a LOWBALL bid that would not be in the best interests of the banks and others holding this crap. Finding some way to take all the resets out of the securities might make tallying the damages more helpful but 1.) i dont see how your going to easily do that when we dont even know who the current owners of the mortgages are and 2.)
