I should point out that [creating[ money to buy more defense toys is one way to fight deflation. Those of us in the defense complex are generally well paid and not at risk to having our jobs shipped oversees. That and continued expansion of government are the inflationary fiscal tools that the government has. This is why I tend to be in the inflation camp and have residential real estate as an inflation hedge. So I am talking my book. Have taken 20% of our assets and am playing the short side as a hedge and have done well this year. Note on Bloomberg Asia Deflation will return in 2008 and BOJ will not raise rates.
