No, it doesn't update in real time. I'm not sure that Moody's received or is receiving government (taxpayer) money.

Beazer and lennar get money from the federal government indirectly through tax-loss carryover provisions. While there is no explicit federal funding such as ACORN, having the privilege of huge tax write-offs should be revoked for any organization that commits fraud.

Actually, ACORN does apparently have explicit funding....to make home loans to degenerates and child prostitute smuggling.

Sorry if my post was confusing .. ACORN gets federal funds, whereas Beazer/Lennar get to pay less in corporate income tax. The taxpayer gets screwed either way, we're just debating whether it's doggy style or missionary position.

I think that if you are going after fraudulent organizations, you have to take a look at corporate thugs like Ian McCarthy (Beazer CEO) just the same as the ACORN thugs.

After reading this write up on the unintended consequences of the bill that defunds ACORN I'm no longer optimistic. Nice explanation of why Congress cannot defund just ACORN due to the Constitution.

This is NOT a bill of attainder issue.

The best way to defund is to simply not appropriate. Congress is under no obligation to provide funds to ACORN or any other organization in perpetuity. If there are constitutional problems with singling them out in a specific bill, then just make sure that whatever appropriations bill formerly contained a line item for ACORN has that line item removed.

Similarly with the builders, remove the tax loss carryover provision for all of them. Make they pay their full tax obligation like everyone else. Treasury is going to need the money.

The top ten defense contractors would all be defunded. We know that isn't happening.
