Hi All

Karl's post on Monday stated "If the dollar appears likely to assault the 80 level..."

What is the 80 level? I see constant references to it in the press - and it is always considered to be important - but I cannot seem to find a definition of this level. How is it calculated? Is it a ratio of the dollar to some other currency? Your advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

The "DX", or Dollar Index, is a composite of the Dollar's strength against a basket of other currencies.

The only reason the Dollar is not in a full-on collapse is that the Yen (which is one of the currencies in the basket) is ALSO weak.
