The amendment to recall the Guv'nah was just passed last year, since IL has a great history of getting their former top executives impeached and fitted with prison stripes. Need: 525,000 signatures (15% of the folks that voted in the last election) Need: 100 votes min from at least 25 counties Need: 20 state reps to sign the petition (out of 118) Need: 10 state senators to sign the petition (out of 59) Then the recall would go to a general vote, and only require 50% to pass. Quinn is on record stating he would veto any income tax increase of more than 33%, so that's grounds for recalling in my book. The signatures won't be a problem. Mrbill Posts: 7904 Incept: 2008-10-19 North Carolina	The good thing about a recall election is that it should motivate the angry people a lot more than the passively accepting people. Especially for a special ballot vote. California's special election for tax increases last year was soundly defeated with only an 11% overall turn out. 2011-01-14 20:17:12 Permalink
