The USA now resembles the situation in India as told to me by an MBA student about 15 years ago. He said there are so many educated people chasing so few jobs that many, many people have two undergraduate degrees or undergraduate and masters degrees (or maybe two masters degrees) and yet they are still going to school for another degree to try and get an advantage over their competition.

Well, in the USA now just about everyone has an undergraduate degree so the arms race is in the masters degree area. Soon I guess we'll be at two masters. That would be good for job security for me except I think we'll hit "broke" on the money gage before we get there.

S&P 500 at 320, DOW at 2200, Gold $300/oz, and Corn $2/bu.

The January 2015 AMZN put at $130 (cost $4.25) will be a winner.

Yep. Online bachelors is old news. Online masters degree programs are expanding. Some of the advertising reminds me of old late night infomercials with the blue scrolling screen rambling off different careers.

HVAC repair, paralegal, mortician, TV repair....

Some universities seem to be fighting over who can become the best diploma mill.

Arp you are correct.

At my university we are doing everything we can to maintain or even increase quality but to often too many students want a degree with little or no work, not caring that they are getting little to no education. They think all they need is the piece of paper when in reality the knowledge is way more valuable than the piece of paper.

This is exactly the problem, right here in this thread. If you ACTUALLY believed it to be wrong, why continue to do it? How much of a voluntary salary reduction have you suggested for yourself? I can't say what's right and wrong for you, but don't pretend like you're not the problem. Can't have your cake and eat it, too.
