I don't watch CNBC anymore.
You think after 9 months of credit market stress, dozens of capital raises, hundreds of mortgage implosions, 100 yr old institution blowing up, unprecendented illegal FED Reserve actions, Libor rate fraud, rogue trader shenigans, bond insurer bailout / implosions, Spitzer wild penis, Gassbag pumps, Mozillo fraud, CFC - BAC rescue - J6P should take a flame thrower to Wall Street.
Ron Paul is an incumbent. He is the enemy. Vote them all out.

Karl, Quote: The screwing will not stop until you start showing up in Washington DC and the streets of your states, literally shouting down the fools in Congress and shutting down commerce until the screwing stops!
That's like bringing a knife to a gunfight. I admire your tenacity. The problem is they will just use their thugs to chase you away. That attitude is apparent in the way the Paul office treated your faxes and that you may have done something wrong in finding out the new fax number. These scum in DC will only understand after the rope is around their necks!

Great rant, Karl. The great thing is that it doesn't come across as crazy. It makes you sound like you're the only sane person in the room.

I think the phrase, all encompassing fraud, sums it up.
When Greenspan warned of irrational exuberance, he was shouted down. It was the one honest thing he said. The public is not going to wake up. The public wants a bigger rebate check. bread and circuses.
Glass-Steagall. Deregulate, deregulate, deregulate. The banks needed to be set free from the shackles of regulation. Congress obliged, palms greased by bankers political contributions. 10,000 appraisors, the RTC/S&L cassandras didn't make enough political contributions to be heard. Phil Grahm proposed, Bill Clinton signed. a marriage made in hell.
This is the 1920's all over again. A Great Depression followed the 1920's. Two Nobel lauriates started LTCM. They thought they were so smart. We know the result. I don't know if congress foolishly thought the banks would know not to do what the S&L's did, or simply didn't care what the outcome would be, if G-S was dismantled. We do know the worst case scenario unfolded.
Considering that we wound up with The New Deal, after the 1920's, i don't know why conservatives would want to court New Deal 2. Maybe they figured that with bloated government entitlement programs, an economic crash would put an end to big government. Gee, what if they figured wrong? After all, we have the banks wanting to socialize their losses. Maybe the banks will instead wind up being socialized. Maybe the oil companies will be nationalized. Those who play with fire, get burned.
I would rather that not happen- for one, The New Deal did not end the depression. However, i don't like Wall Street and corporate insiders and the bankers raping my retirement fund or bank account, so they can become filthy rich at my expense off my earned income. What goes around, comes around. In 1932, a republican could not get elected to congress. I voted for James Rogan, who was part of the impeachemnt of Bill Clinton. I voted twice for George Bush. I now loathe the republican party.
What goes around, comes around.
The 1920's ended in a depression. The 1990's 00's boom era is bound for a similar end. every point Karl ticked off in today's ticker, tells me so.

and demand more handouts.
Classic Gen.
Two things that really burn my ass - people asking the .gov to take care of something for them and the government deciding that with a few more regulations everything will be fine.
Here's a bit of advice. People how about accepting some responsibility for your own problems. And for the lawmakers you don't need new regulations in place until you get the old ones enforced.

Omen of coming depression:
MILWAUKEE - Dan Deming had heard the rumors about the buried treasure on his central Wisconsin farm.
At first he made some halfhearted attempts to find it, and then searched in earnest for two or three years after receiving a metal detector for his birthday.
"I don't know what I thought, if I thought it was really there or not," he said.
The mystery ended recently while Deming was tearing down a 100-year-old shed on his property. A rusted box tumbled from the rubble and wads of currency dating back to the Depression spilled on the ground.
The legend of the buried treasure dates back more than 40 years.
"I heard from my grandfather that a man who lived here during the '30s and '40s was eccentric and might have stashed money," Deming said.
When he first saw the bills, he thought they were play money. Then he saw the words "silver certificate" across the top of a $1 bill and realized it was real. He also noticed the bills were dated between 1928 and 1934.

What a great Ticker for Tuesday.
Karl, I hope you are at least resting after a rant. Keep that BP monitored; you certainly don't want to end up under the care of some big nurse. Then I suppose some of us would have to come down there to make sure you at least get some real bread or cake.

Genesis wrote..Tuesday, June 3, 2008 -Tired Tuesday- http://market-ticker.denninger.net/2008/.... The "Ron Paul Love Club." Sit down and shut up - the lot of you. His office called me yesterday and explicitly asked that I stop faxing in constituent petition signatures, along with my market commentary that bears on the House Committees he sits upon. That's right, he doesn't want to hear from you if you're his constituent and he doesn't want commentary that bears on his decisions in Congress. Karl- I am surprised that Ron Pauls office people chose to regard you with such disdain. Paul is the only candidate that I thought had any integrity and the only one I would have voted for president out of this group of politicians...my 2’.

We have all been forced into an economic system where there is no fundamental benchmark of value - everything is a sliding scale that is open to manipulation.
Putting collars on the parameters between which the manipulation may occur is a vote for fraud and theft, albeit a little less fraud and theft committed by the chosen ones.
How about a systemic change to where we cannot be inflated and deflated out of our wealth? How about a system where if the government wants to hand out candy to favored members, it has to actually have the funds?
Calls for more regulations have little effect beyond hampering productivity and ensuring a new crop of lawyers will continue to line their pockets.
This is not rocket science. How many times do we have to see this play out before we figure out that the problem is structural? You cannot set it up to where men can play with the ruler of wealth (money), and then expect that they'll eschew self-interest in favor of the interests of nameless masses that they don't know or care about. I don't blame the crooks - I blame the morons who want to let them keep playing with just a little more oversight.
"But..... but...... we need a floating currency policy to stimulate growth when things get tough".....
Bull****. Get rid of the laws restricting what people can freely use as currency, and then you can do whatever you want with your ******n monetary policy - I don't have to ride in the boat anymore, so sink it if you want. The problem is - no one would want federal reserve notes then - and the whole ponzi scheme comes crashing down. Money is a commodity, and not some magically peculiar one as most economists argue. It is only peculiar in that it is the only one universalized by fiat. Don't you suppose that forcing the use of whale-blubber oil, and criminalizing the use of other sources of fuel might cause distortions to the market? Might it not cause a lot of unintended consequences?

Clock -
If you've followed Ron Paul, you know that he doesn't need Karl (or me, for that matter) to advise him on this issue. He is one of about three elected representatives who have a cursory grasp on the issue.
As for asshats - I don't know what one is, so I'll assume it 'Takes one to know one'.
By all!

Paul's office called me AGAIN.
They're rather, uh, upset that I published the fact that they whined at me about the faxes.
For that they will get half the ticker devoted to him tomorrow.
Oh, and his assistant, Ms. Jennifer Bailey, denied having The White Paper or the signatures from Mr. Paul's constituents despite me having HARD LOGS that they were received, and when I asked if she would like me to re-send those signatures and The White Paper SHE EXPLICITLY TOLD ME NOT TO DO SO.
You folks in his district need to write in Mickey Mouse for his seat come November.
You'll get better representation.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed that Bernanke looks like he may have the Chrysler Building lodged in his colon these days.
He seems to have aged several years over the past few months his beard has gone almost completely white on him. Within the past week Fed Governor Mishkin anounces he's bailing on the good ship Bernanke while Dallas Fed President Fisher issues some dire warnings about the pickle we find ourselves in. They all know we're screwed unless we take our medicine. I would not want to be in their position.

Hehehe. When prepping for the first petition, I did the database update for TX. Big f'in state, I guess. Up 'til 4 a.m. putting it together. The ONE piece of info I couldn't find? R.P.'s fax #. Thanks for the ticker, Gen, I feel vindicated.

These scum in DC will only understand after the rope is around their necks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I really believe that the government ****s got to Ron Paul several months ago and told him to shut the **** up or he and/or his family would be killed. Kind of like the Clinton body count... Remember he was real hot for a while, had record internet fund raising, promoted his message of abolishing the IRS and the Federal Reserve. Then all of a sudden you never heard about him anymore. Stopped being on the debates, dropped off the planet.
Gimme a ****ing break....these Zionists would NEVER, EVER allow his agenda, or anybody who promotes that agenda, to come anywhere CLOSE to becoming President. They're all puppets for the same puppetmaster. Who cares who wins the race if you own all the horses!
CNBC? The propaganda bull**** channel. It reminds me of Nazi Germany and the audio feeds that were pumped into the POW's jail cells. It's electric brainwashing. Audio Kool-Aid. It really makes you wonder if these ****s truly do believe the crap they spout, or they are told what to say and paid to say it. I just have a hard time believing they are really that stupid.
I have a friend I was a broker with 15 yrs ago who is now on CNBC occasionally as the "Senior Trading Director" at a firm that shall remain nameless. I've seen his commentary. This ****er is just not that stupid to be saying the **** he has...market's a buy, no recession, second half recovery, blah blah blah. I found his email address (not on his firm's website) and sent him an email asking him if he was paid to say the **** he says.
What did I get back? Nothing but crickets chirping...
