Lemonaid....

All the time....I was up in CT and took my relatives to dinner on Restaurant.com....That site is great if you fly into an out of town area for a few days and don't want to have to buy a book specific to an area....

I have purchased the EnjoyTheCity books for Austin (4 yr for my son in college) and for us in WPB, FL....I used to buy the Entertainment book but many coupons in the last few years were more towards Ft Lauderdale vs. near me....switched over to the Enjoyment Book....SouthFloridaDines has GREAT coupons for us because it has restaurant coupons I can't normally find elsewhere but it is specific to South Florida....Groupon & DailySocial has deals in Austin that I pick up periodically....again....for my son....

All legitimate websites....If you travel....like to eat out....do things....etc....These are great for savings....but of course you are limited to what is on the websites or in the books....

One other thing....be sure before buying a book that you flip thru the pages online....and enlarge the text to see when the coupons will expire....Right now all Entertainment Books are $15 but those expire I believe in November....so that is why the price is significantly lower....SouthFloridaDines coupons are good for 90 days from purchase....Restaurant.com, Groupon, DailySocial coupons are good for a year....etc....

----------
Daily I wonder what will happen next....

Any time you need 10% off at Lowes or Home Depot just stop off at a post office and tell them you're moving and want a change of address packet. It's got a 10% off coupon that's good for up to $500 in savings.

I just did the ebay thing for 20 $5 Kohl's coupons. I'm buying a condo and will be needing some things. Figured I'd give this a try and see how it works. I can buy one dish at a time until I've got all I need!

Bought 2 Spyder 2008 fleece jackets in 2008 for $28.00 each on ebay. Retail cost was 145.00 each at the local ski shop.
Killer deal done!

Briar, just a helpfull tip... presenting 20 of these coupons to the same cashier is likely to get a stern look or worse.

I'd walk in one entrance and use one coupon there and then walk into the other entrance and use another coupon over there...

I felt less goofy the more I did it smiley

I already figured that, Lemon! We're lousy with Kohl's around here too, so I can go to more than one. I figured I'd just go to one at lunchtime and another on the way home. These things are good until the 15th.

I also just learned that I may not be able to make an offer on the condo i want because it's on lease land and I'm planning to go for an FHA mortgage and they might not allow for condos on lease land. Bummer.

Of course, I was finding this out as the market was crashing so I told my agent the whole thing might be moot by tomorrow anyway.

Arxiv... are you sure they aren't knock-offs??? gotta be careful on eBay... although I just bought a "Vintage" Waring handmixer. Never used, still in the package - looks like it may have been from the 70s. less than $20 with shipping and it was made in the USA!

That explains it! The move notice came right after I posted my comments about using the 20 Kohl's coupons and I thought, "oh no! what did i say that*****ed off the Exalted One?!"

It doesn't make sense to me why this was moved from the Bar. Its completely off topic and not market related. And looking at the thread titles in FedUp, it really doesn't belong here either. The Bar was the place for it.

Oh yeah, I ordered some car parts (inner tie-rod) that was mis-priced for $18...it was 62 for same manufacturer everywhere else.

And today I realized that the brake pads I got a few weeks ago were mis-priced too at %$16; today it was $42. And toss in the $15 mail in rebate :)

Monroe had $80 rebate off purchase of four struts. Struts were about $52 each...that's a a big rebate.

I just tried to use my first Kohl's coupon. I did what I usually do at Kohl's. I walked around and look at all the over-priced stuff and then left. I did try to buy one of those $5 stuffed toys they have up front that they donate proceeds to a charity for. But there was a customer at checkout who didn't seem to understand "you'll have to go to customer service" that the checkout lady kept telling her. Rather than wait and wait and wait, I put it back and left.

I woulda bought my first plate but with the condo now not so definite, I didn't want to pull the trigger.

I would've bought the toy if I'd thought the intellectually-challenged person who was tying up the only cashier would have gotten a clue within a minute or two. I didn't take my crutch in and my knees were already giving out after walking around the store for 20 minutes.

Actually, I don't think you can use the coupons on those toys for charity. I'm pretty sure that I've read that writing on their coupons before. Thats probably why you had the problem.

I never made it to the cash register so I didn't have a problem. I'll have to take a closer look at the coupon but I don't remember seeing anything like that. Thanks for the tip.

I usually don't buy name brand stuff and don't have much use for coupons.

Lentils aren't really expensive and produce is what it is.

Surprisingly, if you get a sale on a brand name item, coupled with coupons, you get prices LOWER than the store brand. Picked up a lot of Green Giant canned veggies that way.
