My company is interested in equipping the interior of a mobile office trailer to be used on industrial worksites.

Some of what we would like:

- Support for multiple (rotatable) monitors that can stow away when in transit and be sturdy and durable
- Each monitor should have the ability to mirror in real-time what a computer operator is doing using a laptop
- Each monitor should also have the ability to keep an image onscreen while the computer operator focuses on other work projects
- Preferably, the static image on each monitor could be modified via some sort of stylus device and touchscreen technology when making field notations
- Wireless LAN
- Central data storage
- Wireless printing capability
- Ability to access internet
- Phone line
- Ability to teleconference

Can anyone point us in the right direction?

Go to COTS magazine(http://www.cotsjournalonline.com/) and look at their advertisers. Many of them have ruggedized PC's,Laptops, and monitors, which is what you're looking for.

get a full swivel monitor wall mount. if it doesn't have locks, mount a clamp on the wall to secure the swivel arms

windows will do monitor mirroring. having separate desktop sessions ("working" with one while other displays movies) is probably not worth the hassle. changing modes from mirror to extended would do it, but seems a fruitless hassle.

get touch screen monitors.

wireless lan = wireless router/hot spot.

central data = nas (network area storage)

wireless printing = wireless printer.

access to internet = mobile isp. subscribe to a dedicated cellular internet service or "tether" a cellphone with internet service to a "hot spot" device.

phone line???

teleconference = speaker phone mode on your cell phone.

Don't forget cooling, you may need an auxiliary AC unit if you intend to keep the trailer running onsite 24/7 with arrays of spinning HDDs. Remember, 1kW gives off 3413 BTU, and most high-end PCs run power supplies of 500w or more (though that's max rating, even at 50% that's a decent amount of heat).

Also, if you have lead-acid UPS batteries, proper ventilation.
