She found that when she needed simple edits and text added, the elancers did not understand English. He checks the server and sees that index.html is empty. So he calls the off-site (American) contractor who handles it. Contractor: Looks good to me SIL: what are you looking at it with? Contractor: DreamWeaver SIL:could you try it in your browser? Contractor: Okay. Could you send me the link? SIL: What? Do you mean the URL? You don't know the URL of the website you're maintaining? Contractor: What's a URL? Later SIL: So, when you have DreamWeaver upload it, what are you using for a host name? Contractor: What's a hostname? Finally after literally walking her click-by-click through doing an FTP upload with filezilla, he got the website working again.
