Yeah... NKorea would have no choice but to pound Seoul or something like that in retaliation... which would end up with full scale war... and since it would have been the US ``technically`` starting the war, China would probably side with NKorea... and it would be real bad... especially with Iran-Israel situation on the verge of going bad. So hopefully (and probably) that this is just empty threats. http://world.kbs.co.kr/english/news/news....Quote:The commander of the U.S. Pacific Command says the U.S. may launch a surgical strike against missile bases and nuclear test sites in North Korea if it conducts a third nuclear test. We'll see in the coming weeks... but if the US strikes, Kim Jong Un will be FORCED to bomb South Korea or else he will get overthrown by even more extremists generals... So IMO, anyway you cut it, if the US bombs NKorea for any reason, war will start. And if you think war is gonna be easy... http://www.spacedaily.com/reports/War_wi....Quote:With an array of artillery trained on Seoul, North Korea could easily blast the glass towers of the South's booming capital for days and kill huge numbers of civilians before US and South Korean forces prevailed, experts said.
"Official Pentagon models assume it would take months to win the war at a cost approaching one million casualties or more, all told, including dead and wounded," Michael O'Hanlon, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, told AFP.
"And that's without nuclear weapons being used," said O'Hanlon, who wrote a book looking at the effects of a potential war. Nuclear weapons... or China involvement... or biological/chemical weapons being used...

Quote:The Associated Press reported from Pyongyang that the Korean Central News Agency said the nation would press on with its space ambitions because it no longer feels bound by the food aid agreement, now that Washington has abandoned it.
“We have thus become able to take necessary retaliatory measures, free from the agreement,” the North Korean news agency said, citing a statement from the Foreign Ministry. “The U.S. will be held wholly accountable for all the ensuing consequences.” http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/world_no....

A bit surprising they'd actually straight up call it out like that.

Yeah sure, talk about blowing it out of your ass. N. Korea has something like 1 million artillery pieces aimed at s. Korea. So they tested 2 what does a third mean? Nothing in my book. Shut up and sit down admiral

The latest BS from NKorea... http://english.yonhapnews.co.kr/news/201....Quote:N. Korea threatens to blow up Seoul over defamation of its leader
North Korea will stage a "sacred war to wipe out the group of traitors unless South Korea immediately apologize for insulting" the anniversary celebrations, the North Korean government said in an English-language dispatch carried by the country's official Korean Central News Agency.
"As even the heart of Seoul is served as a base for provocative acts of hurting the dignity of the (North)'s supreme leadership, the (North) will take a special action to blow up everything there," the Supreme Command of the Korean People's Army warned in an English-language statement carried by the KCNA. Their 1950 Soviet type of propaganda is quite funny to read. NKorea : all hat, no cattle.

What's going to happen first: NK regime collapses or NK develops the capability to delivery a nuclear bomb?

Well this is getting dangerous... Quote:North Korea vows military "special action" soon against #ROK president Lee, his followers "including the conservative media." Quote:#DPRK TV broke into programming to make the special announcement. This is not one of those "routine" nasty threats from Pyongyang it seems. Quote:DPRK: Attack on #ROK will be carried out by "special operation action unit" under the military high command. #Korea Quote:A KCNA report yesterday said that “Once an order is issued, we will … behead and dismember Lee Myung Bak and wipe out his stooges.” Quote:DPRK: Once "special action" commences the "rat-like groups & the bases for provocations" will be reduced "to ashes in 3 to 4 minutes." Quote:N. Korea says this will be accomplished "by unprecedented peculair means & methods of our own style." Advertising a coming provocation?? Are they stupid?? Quote:Some sources I'm speaking with (jn & out of gov't) speculate the threat could indicate plans for a big cyber attack on #ROK from #DPRK. Not a big deal if this is the case... either it's total bunk... or they gonna activate a sleeper cell... or they gonna try to land a few commandos in SKorea... they do that and it won't be pretty. Quote:The special announcement from Pyongyang concludes "Our revolutionary armed forces do not make empty talk." Oh really?? And the stupid continues : http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/04/2....Quote:China lauds North Korea friendship despite tensions

So they actually do something. Who is going to feed them next year? Only China if they wanted N. Korea to do this.
Handing Obama a renewed war right when he needs distractions before the election would be stupid. It is on a silver platter with no need to argue about declaring war.
