In Texas, you can legally use deadly force to stop a rape. It's up to the grand jury now, but the rancher does have the law on his side.

Peter, oh yeah, I got the twisted irony there. Depending on what traction this gets in the press, who knows, Holder might actually get involved. CNN is so hellbent on ending what they see as "vigilante justice", a.k.a. self defense, that they just might make an issue out of this and prompt him to do something.

As bad as this tragedy is it could get worse. If the state charges the father, the child might blame herself. This could be catastrophic for the real victim.

Good for him.

Hopefully, the girl will forget it all.

If something similar ever befell MY daughter, and the law proved insufficient, at least now I have a strategy.

I'm all for giving the father a rebate from the courts and prison budget for his help in solving the over crowding problem.
