Pitz - nope. They gave me a 12% discount all told, and the 0% financing was on top of the discount.

Then you could've hit them for an even greater discount, had you not taken the financing. After all, the JD is just looking for a certain NPV for the sale.

No - no further discount was even a possibility. I talked to 4 dealers, checking prices. This was before any talk of 0% financing even came up, when I stated I planned to pay cash only. They preferred the sale to walk rather than lower the price further. They're not going to sell a new tractor with a warranty for less than used tractors get. As it was, I'm only paying about $800 more than a used tractor of the same horsepower with cat 1 hitch and > 200 hours on the engine.

Tesla,

Are you finding the 1026R to be ample? Or, do you wish you would have gone bigger (2520, 2720) now that you've been able to use it a few days?

I'd suggest that you fell for the salesmans' trick of 'no further discount [is] even a possibility.' After all, they did give you an implied NPV discount with the 0% financing.

Obviously the prices on those used tractors probably have only one way to go:

smiley

But seriously, this is the sort of bull**** that is entirely wrong with the economy. Businesses like JD should be businesses focussed on innovation and production of their products, not financing outfits trying to shove credit at people even if they don't need or want it.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally hit the i when you created your handle?

N77, with the brush hog attached I find I can cut weeds and underbrush that are 3-4' in height and ~2" in diameter with no problem. So far I haven't run into any issues with needing more power and not having it. I can pick up ~700 lb bales of hay with the forks with no issue, and run them back to the hay shed. My needs were fairly simple - mow lawn and fields, move hay and screenings and manure, dig small swales. I lose some efficiency due to the slightly smaller deck and bucket, but I'm willing to make that tradeoff for the lower upfront price, plus the smaller size is easier to maneuver around some tight spots I have around the buildings.

Pcap, new holland was easily 10% higher in final cost. Deere was offering all kinds of incentives and discounts that new holland, kuboda and bobcat had no interest in matching.

I find New Holland the best quality
