Same here Fraud, all I've been hearing is "Obama won, Obama won! They'll do anything to bring that man down!"

No you dumbasses, we ALL lost.

I finally had to FORCE them back to their cubes, but I left them with a visual aid that received mostly blank stares. I held up a water bottle, said "When voting in November, here's your CHOICE (singular). I pointed to the logo on the left side and said "Here's Obama," then to the one on the right and said "Here's Romney - you're voting for the SAME DAMN PERSON!"

Only one understood. He then mumbled something about the 1%, which is fine. Whatever you label them, they OWN US.

'RomneyCare' Mittens? You bet your ass he's celebrating the SCOTUS decision...

Quote:
"If President Obama and the Democrats repeat the mistake of the health insurance reform here in Massachusetts on a national level, they will threaten to wipe out the American economy within four years," Cahill said in a press conference in his office.

...[RomneyCare] Cahill said, "has nearly bankrupted the state."

Cahill said the law is being sustained only with the help of federal aid, which he suggested that the Obama administration is funneling to Massachusetts to help the president make the case for a similar plan in Congress.

"The real problem is the sucking sound of money that has been going in to pay for this health care reform," Cahill said. "And I would argue that we’re being propped up so that the federal government and the Obama administration can drive it through" Congress.

Since this is an inverted/conditional head tax (direct tax) which still is required to be apportioned amongst the states, how they gonna do that?

Reason: clarification on inverted/conditional

Failure to do so will result in a 10k tax imposed on you.

Yea shocking Patentleathershoes, huh.

So since the taxing power overrides other clauses in the constitution lets see

All Blacks shall submit themselves to Slavery. Failure to do so will have a tax of 100k/year imposed on them.

All women who vote shall have a tax of 10k/per vote imposed on them.

Anyone that objects to warrant-less searches and seizures shall have a tax of 100k imposed on them

Anyone that insists on a trial by the jury of your peers shall have a tax of 1M imposed on them to offset the costs

Anyone that does not obtain a permit to exercise your first amendment right to free speech shall have a tax of 100k imposed on them

I could keep going.. the list is literally endless

EDIT: Of course the tax can be waived by the appropriate bureaucrat, or if you are "poor", just like omamacare

I think this is a win for business. They will have a fixed cost going forward on health insurance (just pay the penalty). It's a loss for people. Do they really think that their company is going to chase the escalating costs and provide insurance or take the fixed cost. As an employer you should never offer insurance again, just take the penalty. Big business must be thrilled with this (which is probably why it was upheld). The people will be the ones taking on the escalating costs or paying the "fine". If you really think this is a win for people, I have a huge ROFL for you. Just look at the costs of the plan now... congrats, you have to buy it now (or pay a fine you can't afford on your taxes). Oh, and paying the fine doesn't guarantee care...

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I understand it is that starting in 2014 the 'tax' penalty is $695/yr or $58/mo for not having insurance. And you can now wait till you're sick to get insurance and you can't be turned down. So won't healthy people just pay the $695/yr, which is way cheaper than insurance, and then just get insurance for a while if they have a medical problem?

Correct, and it escalates from there YoY. The problem will be when you go to get that "just in time" policy for your pre-existing condition and they give you a policy that costs 30k (or more). Look at the policies now...

Oops.

Can't afford that policy and need the care... now what? What if its not emergent?

Yes, but they now can't discrimate (with higher insurance rates) for pre-existing conditions. So you would pay the same as you would have anyway. Seems like everyone will now just pay the penalty and pay insurance if they get a very serious problem.

The penalty is the greater of $695 or 2% of your income not to exceed $2250. That's how I understand it.

Justices Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas & Alito: The money quote:

Justices Who Cared About The Constitution wrote..
The case is easy and straightforward, however, in an¬other respect. What is absolutely clear, affirmed by the text of the 1789 Constitution, by the Tenth Amendment ratified in 1791, and by innumerable cases of ours in the 220 years since, is that there are structural limits upon federal power—upon what it can prescribe with respect to private conduct, and upon what it can impose upon the sovereign States. Whatever may be the conceptual limit supon the Commerce Clause and upon the power to tax and spend, they cannot be such as will enable the Federal Government to regulate all private conduct and to com¬pel the States to function as administrators of federal programs.

That clear principle carries the day here. The striking case of Wickard v. Filburn, 317 U. S. 111 (1942), which held that the economic activity of growing wheat, even for one’s own consumption, affected commerce sufficiently that it could be regulated, always has been regarded as the ne plus ultra of expansive Commerce Clause jurisprudence. To go beyond that, and to say the failure to grow wheat (which is not an economic activity, or any activity at all) nonetheless affects commerce and therefore can be federally regulated, is to make mere breathing in and out the basis for federal prescription and to extend federal power to virtually all human activity.

Those four Justices have just fairly warned everyone.
