What I find alarming is not his delusional arrogance, but that Maria and Congress still hang on his every word. Maybe they should read the comments. 20 pages of non stop criticism. That wouldn't have happened not long ago and yet he is still in a position to be heard and they are not. His last sentence in the interview "crises don't give you notice". He's talking his book, i.e he never saw anything coming and never will.

Somehow...
Greenspan made me think of an old Peter Sellers movie where Sellers plays the part of a simpleton gardener who babbles nonsense about gardening and those around him take him to be a genius. He makes statements about it takes time for seeds to sprout, etc, and it is considered sage advice. "What genius. Such insight..."
Just my impression, I could be wrong.

Chauncey Gardiner "Being There". Great Movie. Greenspan is no Chauncey Gardiner though. Greenspan is sure he knows everything whereas Chauncey knows that he knows nothing even though others think otherwise.

Greespan reminds me more of Gollum.

It's a shame he still gets air time.
